The National Museum of Ghana is the oldest and the largest of the Six African Art Museum under the administration of the Ghana museums and Monuments Board. The launch of the National Museum was performed by the Duchess of Kent, Princess Marina on 5th March 1957 as part of the Independence celebrations. They exhibit indigenous Ghanaian musical instruments, Chiefs regalia, gold weights, beads, traditional textiles, stools and pottery. Other African historical products there are the Senufu Mask, Zulu wooden figures, bead-ware from the Southern Africa, Bronze heads from Nigeria and Bushongo carvings from the Congo.
